Hi I am Scotty Beagle!

I am here to tell my story. Right now I am 7 weeks old. I learned how to walk last week! It was so much fun to walk, but it is really hard!

I was born on January 28. I looked normal at birth and weighed 8 oz which I am told is fairly average. That was my last average act. My sister was smaller than me at 5 1/2 oz and my brothers were 10 and 11oz. They were really big!

Everything seemed to be normal with all of us for the first couple of weeks. Little Sister was gaining weight and I was gaining weight and Clancy and Sumo were really gaining weight. When our eyes opened it was obvious that something was different about Little Sister and me. We were much smaller and we weren't really getting around the way we should. Trish thought it was because we were smaller and getting knocked around by the bigger boys. She took us out everyday so that we could move around on big fluffy blankets and pillows so that we would learn to use our legs better. Little Sister began walking with in the week. I still was crawling around everything. Trish called Sue (our litter mom, Trish was fostering us) and told her about the problem and then she began doing research. At 4 weeks Trish realized that Little Sister and I weren't growing as much as the brothers were. I still wasn't walking, Trish and Sue were beginning to get concerned. They started talking about genetic issues such as drwafism and MLS both kind of scary things for them. Little Sister and I had know idea what they were talking about we think we are perfect!

Little Sister began really walking and playing with the brothers, as a matter of fact she took charge! I stayed in the crate most of the time...it was safe in there.

MommaStar quit nursing us at 5 weeks, she knew we were all eating well and she needed to go to the next chapter in her life. She was a great mom! She always made sure that we were fed and clean! We were ready to go back to Grandma Sue's! Everyone was very excited except Trish and me. Trish cried a lot when she held me and told me I would be ok and Grandma Sue would find me the perfect home. I would kiss her nose and tell her I was home. She was so sad that week. On Thursday Russell (Trish's other guy) came home and asked her why she was so sad. She cried really hard and told him that I still couldn't walk that she wanted me to stay and that is wasn't fair of her to ask now because she was crying. He hugged her tight and told her I could stay with her. I  knew I wasn't leaving - this is my home! Trish called Sue and told her that she wanted to keep me. Sue said of course I could stay! Way to go Grandma Sue! Now I call Trish Mom, she has always been my mom!

That weekend we went to Grandma Sue's to take my brothers and sister to stay there. They talke a lot about what might be wrong with me and Little Sister. Our friend Cathy was there. They all talked about us. Mom talked to other people at the show the next day, told them about me and got their thoughts too. Mom and Grandma Sue pretty much ruled out MLS which left  chondrodystrophy. They decided to take us to the vet. Mom took me to her vet and Grandma Sue took Little Sister to her vet. The vets both agreed that we have a type of dwarfism. Whatever! I am way to cute and happy to care!
